Recapping CatCentric’s first tradeshow: Your donations at work!

CatCentric Posted on September 26, 2016 by Tracy DionSeptember 26, 2016

Recapping CatCentric's first tradeshow: Your donations at work! The New England Pet Expo took place last weekend, and the event was everything I could have hoped for and more.

It was two solid days of smart, excited, and curious pet owners streaming by the CatCentric booth, actively seeking information on ways to make their kitties’ lives happier and healthier.

So many stopped to ask questions and talk cats that I was hoarse before the first day was over. I almost couldn’t keep up with them!

Best of all, the reception to the CatCentric message – that there are many things we can do to make our kitties lives better, happier and healthier – was amazingly open. One after another, I could see it clicking with them while we were talking. Daily play to alleviate boredom. Check! Flat plates to spare super sensitive whiskers. Check! Three meals minimum and no free-feeding to respect the cat’s digestive physiology. Check! And, most important of all… fresh whole foods, not processed mass-manufactured food products for true health. Check! Only three visitors – an older lady set on feeding kibble, a vegan who couldn’t see the harm in forcing her morality on her carnivorous kitties, and a vet tech certain I was condemning hundreds of kitties to death by Salmonella poisoning (when, of course, we know the opposite is true) – had negative reactions… everyone else was excited to learn there are many ways, some of them very simple, to improve their furry friends’ lives.

I gave away over 500 CatCentric cards, signed several owners up for our brand new quarterly newsletter, added over 150 members to the CatCentric FB group this last week, and made several wonderful contacts with local rescue groups, pet food specialty owners, pet sitting businesses and more, all of whom are willing to share CatCentric information with their clients.

It was the most amazing, uplifting and exciting weekend!

Thank you to everyone who donated to the fundraiser that paid for the booth and much of the material I gave out. Thank you so much! CatCentric would not have reached any of these people without your generous help.

A special thanks to Holly Abbandonato and super special thanks to Wendy Wasserman, two amazingly creative minds who were instrumental in pulling together CatCentric’s look for the booth. I am so blessed to have those two on the CatCentric team.

Together, we touched, and hopefully improved, many kitty lives last weekend. And that’s what it’s all about!
