Many of us are familiar with “herds”, “packs” and “pods”, groups of horses, dogs, and dolphins, respectively. But did you know that a group of cats is called a “clowder”, or that a litter or two of kittens is a “kindle”? Of course, a “pride” is a family of lions, but you might not be aware that a “leap” is a group of leopards, a “coalition” is a company of cheetah, and a gathering of tigers is called an “ambush”.

“Business” = A group of ferrets.
“Cast” = A group of falcons.
“Charm” = A group of finches.
“Convocation” = A group of eagles.
“Crash” = A group of rhinos.
“Float” = A group of crocodiles.
“Gang” = A group of elk.

“Mob” = A group of emus.
“Murder” = A group of crows.
“Murmuration” = A group of starlings.
“Parliament” = A group of owls.
“Quiver” = A group of cobras.
