We’re three weeks into 2014 and as is so often the case, the New Year brings with it some exciting changes and some new challenges.
CatCentric expands beyond the English-speaking border!
First, I am thrilled to announce three new additions to the CatCentric team: Tania Iberians, Dolores Lara, and Tamar Alvarez. These wonderful ladies have very kindly stepped forward and offered to translate select CatCentric articles into Spanish. In fact, the first two articles, “Raw Feeding Your Cat: Just the Basics” and “Dem bones, dem bones, dem scary bones!” are in review now and will be published very soon in our brand new Spanish section.
This is a huge and exciting step in CatCentric’s mission to become a truly global platform for changing how we perceive and care for our beloved felines. Tania, Dolores, Tamer, I can’t thank you enough!
NOTE: CatCentric readers – If you are fluent in both English and another language and would be willing to translate articles for this site, please contact me! It is our goal to have as many of our articles in as many languages as possible, and we need your help to make that happen.
Another discussion platform created!
As many of you may know, CatCentric has partnered with colleagues in the ferret and canine worlds (Mustelamania, The Natural Carnivore, respectively) in the creation and administration of RawFedPets, an online forum that brings together exceptionally knowledgeable individuals from all over the world to discuss their experiences and answer questions related to raw feeding as well as the general care, health and behavior of their favorite pets (not to mention the always-welcome picture sharing!).
Today, I am delighted to announce the creation of a brand new, much-anticipated Facebook group representing CatCentric’s feline-focused mission. The indefatigable, extremely knowledgeable and always compassionate CatCentric friend Laurie Goldstein has agreed to administer the new community with me, and questions regarding all aspects of feline nutrition and cat food (with a focus on raw feeding, of course), behavior, psychology, general care and health will be discussed. This will allow for the kind of highly interactive, in-depth conversations so many of Facebook’s millions of members relish.
Now, whatever your media preference – Forum or Facebook – or pet-related question, you can find CatCentric and get it answered!
Changing the blog lineup!
And speaking of Facebook, I try to ensure most of the links I share on CatCentric’s official Facebook page are on interesting or important topics. I know, however, that not everyone is a Facebook fan, so historically, I’ve been publishing the Facebook posts to this blog on a monthly basis. In an effort to cut down on the time necessary to create (and read!) these Facebook link updates, I am now publishing them every Friday… and will continue to do so until I’ve received enough feedback to determine the preference of the majority of CatCentric readers, be it weekly, monthly, or whenever.
I am also going to try really hard this year to stick to a blog publishing schedule. Specifically, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. At this moment, I have enough material to take me through the end of February. We’ll see how I do after that! I’ve been blessed with a fantastic job (for which I am very grateful) but working a 40-hour week means I no longer have the flexibility and copious down-time I once enjoyed. Publishing three times a week is my goal for CatCentric, though, and I mean to stick with it. :-}
And finally, because I can’t resist spreading the smile…
